Finance Business Partner in Leeds

Leeds Full-Time On-site

More than a Finance Business Partner role. A chance to shape what comes next.

Some Finance Business Partner roles are about explaining what happened last month. Others give you the opportunity to influence what happens next.

This is firmly the latter.

We're looking for an ambitious Finance Business Partner to join a manufacturing business at a pivotal point in its journey. With a new finance leadership team bringing fresh thinking, high standards and a clear vision for a more modern, commercially focused finance function, this is an opportunity to be part of something that's genuinely evolving.

And the person supporting the site will be central to making that happen.

Get out from behind the numbers

This isn't a role for someone who is happy producing reports, explaining variances and moving on to the next deadline.

We want someone who is naturally curious about how a business works. Someone who wants to understand what is happening on the shop floor, what drives performance, where the opportunities sit and how finance can help the operation make better decisions.

You'll build relationships across the site, challenge assumptions constructively and bring financial insight into conversations where it can make a real difference.

That means understanding the nuances of manufacturing finance: the cost drivers, production performance, margins, efficiencies and operational trade-offs that can have a material impact on results.

But understanding the numbers is only the starting point. The real value comes from what you do with them.

Can you turn financial insight into better decisions, stronger performance and measurable business value? That's the mindset we're looking for.

The opportunity behind the role

The business is investing in how finance operates. The ambition is to move beyond traditional reporting and build a function that is more forward-looking, commercially engaged and influential across the organisation.

You'll have the opportunity to contribute to that evolution, bringing fresh ideas, asking better questions and helping the site understand not just what its performance looks like, but what it could do differently.

This isn't about arriving with all the answers. It's about having the confidence, curiosity and drive to find them.

For the right person, there's also a bigger picture. This role has been identified as one with future development potential as the finance structure evolves. That isn't a guaranteed promotion or a fixed career path, but it does make this an interesting opportunity for someone who wants to grow with a business rather than simply move into another job.

Who will thrive here?

You'll be a Finance Business Partner who wants to make an impact, not just occupy the position.

You'll bring:

  • Strong manufacturing finance experience: Ideally, you'll understand the operational realities of a manufacturing environment and the financial nuances that come with it.

  • Commercial curiosity: You want to know why the numbers look the way they do, what is driving performance and where the business can improve.

  • A value-adding mindset: You can point to examples where you've gone beyond reporting the numbers to influence decisions, improve performance, unlock opportunities or challenge the status quo.

  • Confidence with stakeholders: You can build credibility with operational colleagues, ask challenging questions and communicate financial insight in a way people can act on.

  • Ambition and initiative: You're hungry to learn, keen to take ownership and motivated by the opportunity to develop your impact.

  • An appetite for change: You enjoy improving how things are done and want to help build a more effective, modern finance function.

Your track record matters. We're interested in what you've changed, improved or influenced in previous roles, not simply the responsibilities listed on your CV.

The environment

You'll be joining a business with a clear ambition to raise the bar. The finance leadership brings credibility, high expectations and a strong focus on transformation. This is an environment for someone who wants to be stretched, contribute ideas and take pride in the quality of their work.

You'll need to bring energy and initiative, but you'll also have the opportunity to learn from an evolving finance function and build your own reputation as someone who adds genuine value.
