High‑Growth, PE‑Backed Climate & Engineering Group Yorkshire-Based | Up to 80% Remote Initially £35,000 – £45,000 + Study Support + Exceptional Career Trajectory
Some finance roles help you tick boxes. Others change the trajectory of your career. This is very much the latter. We are a newly created UK group within a well‑funded international organisation, formed through an aggressive buy‑and‑build strategy in the climate, engineering and technical services space. In an unprecedented growth journey, the group has scaled from £0 to c.£100m revenue in just over 12 months - with further acquisitions already planned. This level of growth is rare. Even in private equity environments. And it creates opportunity.
We’re now looking for a part‑qualified or nearly qualified CIMA/ACCA accountant to join at a pivotal moment - someone with the ambition to grow into a future finance leader, not just “do a job”.
The opportunity (why this role is special)
You’ll work directly for a highly credible Finance Director, known for developing people with potential and giving them exposure far beyond their job title.
“I don’t want someone to just produce numbers. I want to develop someone who can grow with the business and eventually lead.” — Finance Director
From day one, you’ll be involved in both management accounting and financial accounting, gaining rare breadth at an early stage in your career. You’ll see how acquisitions work in practice, how businesses are integrated, and how financial control evolves in a fast‑moving group. Fast forward a few years, and you won’t just have a qualification - you’ll have:
- Experience of hyper‑growth
- Exposure to group, divisional and acquisition accounting
- Direct access to senior leadership
- A genuine story of impact
- A credible pathway towards Finance Manager / Financial Controller / Group roles
- Potential involvement in an IPO journey
What you’ll be doing
This is a broad, hands‑on role with real responsibility, including:
- Producing management accounts and financial reporting for UK divisions
- Supporting financial accounting, balance sheet control and month‑end close
- Owning divisional accounts for newly acquired businesses
- Helping to improve, standardise and automate processes across the group
- Working closely with operational leaders, providing insight and challenge
- Supporting acquisition integration and bringing businesses onto group standards
- Acting as a trusted finance partner to non‑finance stakeholders
You’ll be encouraged to question how things are done — and improve them.
“If you see a better way of doing something, I expect you to say it - and I’ll back you to implement it.” — Finance Director
Who this role is for
This role is ideal for someone who is:
- CIMA / ACCA part‑qualified or nearly qualified
- Ambitious, curious and commercially minded
- Comfortable working in a fast‑changing environment
- Keen to take ownership rather than wait for instruction
- Excited by growth, complexity and responsibility
- Looking for development, not just stability
You don’t need to have “done it all before” - but you do need the mindset to grow into it.
Location & flexibility
Must be based in Yorkshire. Initially up to 80% remote working. Some in‑person time with the Finance Director and wider team. Flexibility now, with more structure as the group continues to scale.
What’s in it for you
£35,000 – £45,000 salary (depending on experience). Full study support. Direct mentorship from a high‑calibre Finance Director. Exceptional exposure to acquisitions and group finance. Autonomy, trust and responsibility early in your career. A genuine pathway into senior finance leadership. The chance to look back and say “I was there at the start”.
In summary
If you’re looking for:
- Fast learning
- Real responsibility
- Proper mentorship
- And a career story that genuinely stands out
This is an opportunity that doesn’t come around often.
