Employment Advisor

Salary: Β£25,500 per annum + Benefits

Covering High Peak & Derbyshire Dales– Regular travel required

We are currently seeking to appoint a Employment Advisor (EA) who will work closely with clinicians during the delivery of integrated support packages across the region.

These include providing tailored sessions depending on need including securing new employment, return to work following absence and retaining employment through in-work support.

What you will be doing?

  • Employment Advisors (EAs) will work with around 30-35 people at any one time and are likely to see 100-120 clients each year.
  • Responsible for delivering employment support through practical and motivational interventions; coordinating with Talking Therapies clinicians where participants are accessing support; assessing the impact and potential barriers of mental health, health conditions, and disabilities to employment.
  • Signposting to other agencies who will be able to provide advice on other benefits or support, and as well as working with other organisations as required (e.g. Jobcentre Plus, employers, Trade Unions).

To be successful you will require;

  • Passion to help others with employment and/or mental health challenges
  • Drive to learn and continuously develop your knowledge and skills
  • Experience of supporting vulnerable/challenging people, for example people who have complex needs etc
  • Experience with caseload management (i.e dealing with multiple people, prioritisation and organisation, digital record keeping)
  • Knowledge of vocational/employment support services
