Rebuilding your life after prison is one of the toughest challenges a person can face. But with the right support, it’s possible. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for an Accommodation Advisor to join the team—someone with a rare mix of compassion, resilience, organisation and flexibility. This is for the person who understands that rehabilitation isn’t just about offering advice; it’s about rolling up your sleeves and proactively supporting individuals on their journey towards securing stable accommodation and rebuilding their lives.

About the Role:

You will be based from the probation offices and will work with a caseload of individuals to provide advice and support relevant to their housing needs. You’ll carry out initial assessments to understand needs and agree an action plan. This may include support to end/sustain a tenancy, find accommodation or basic budgeting advice. Whilst we don’t provide accommodation, we work with organisations that do, and nurturing these relationships is key in this role.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Collaborating with key partners: You’ll work alongside probation and other stakeholders to secure housing solutions i.e local authorities, housing strategy teams and landlords.
  • Caseload management: You’ll manage multiple individuals, balancing their needs while keeping up with all the related admin.
  • Working to KPI’s: You’ll be responsible for meeting performance targets and deadlines. Success in this role requires strong time management, prioritisation, and a results-driven approach to ensure the best outcomes.
  • Quality Recording: Keep thorough records of all your work on our IT system, ensuring progress is properly tracked.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Relationship Building: You’re able to connect with people at all levels, engaging with key stakeholders within prisons and probation. You will build relationships with service users in a way that’s genuine, promotes a sense of trust and is non-judgmental.
  • IT and Administrative skills: Keeping meticulous records of every interaction within strict set timelines to measure client progress and ensure effective interventions.
  • Safeguarding awareness: You are supporting complex individuals at a challenging time in their lives and will need to be able to identify any safeguarding risks.
  • Ownership: You will be the sort of person who thrives on taking ownership, even during the busiest of times and is motivated by getting results.

We particularly welcome applications from those with experience in housing and an awareness of housing legislation.

What We Offer:

  • 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to trade for additional leave.
  • EAP Support programme available 24/7, including 6 free counselling sessions.
  • Private medical insurance and life assurance.
  • Up to 2 days of Community Giving (volunteering) each year to support a cause that matters to you.
  • Eyecare vouchers to help with glasses or eye care.
  • Exclusive discounts via Perks at Work.
  • Cycle to Work scheme and travel season ticket loan.
  • Long service awards to celebrate your commitment.
  • Salary Finance offering financial education and advice.
  • The opportunity to purchase extra benefits like critical illness cover and dental insurance.

Whilst we welcome applications from those with lived experience, this role requires an enhanced Level 1 Vetting and enhanced DBS check. As we wait for the necessary background checks to be completed, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to shadow your colleagues and ask questions.
