We are looking for Youth Mentors for our exciting new YEF (Youth Endowment Fund) contract. As part of your role, you will be responsible for fostering positive relationships with young people, providing guidance, support and social development. You will be working with disengaged/ex-offending young people, with an aim to reduce first-time offending and prevent further offending. To do this, you will be mentoring, providing a variety of support and attending the programme alongside them.

What you'll be doing as a Youth Mentor:

  • You will be a confident presenter and deliver enthusiasm, build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders (i.e. Parents, caregivers, students, young people).
  • You will build trusting relationships with young people through active listening, empathy and respect.
  • Plan, organise, prepare and agree innovative individual action plans and interventions aimed at promoting personal growth, leadership skills and community involvement.
  • You will be based around the West Midlands area with the ability to easily commute between service area locations.

To be our Youth Mentor you will have:

  • Experience of working with offenders or people who have multiple or complex needs.
  • Experience of delivering services one-to-one and in group environments.
