Business Development & Sales
- Define and execute the go-to-market strategy for Grid Automation solutions in the UK.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with utilities (TSOs/DSOs), OEMs, EPC contractors, industrial clients, and engineering consultancies.
- Promote Ingeteam’s Substation Automation, Distribution Automation and Protection Relay portfolio.
- Manage the full business development cycle: from opportunity identification to product approval, proposal support, negotiations, and contract closure.
- Build a robust pipeline aligned with strategic market segments.
Market & Customer Engagement
- Build long term relationships with key decision-makers within TSOs/DSOs, including National Grid, SSE, SP Energy Networks, Northern Powergrid, etc., OEMs with manufacturing facilities in the UK, EPCs, System Integrators and major industrial groups.
- Identify customer needs and regulatory requirements in the UK transmission and distribution sectors.
- Understand product approval processes identifying the key stakeholders within TSOs/DSOs and ENA for product assessment as per the UK market strategy.
- Provide market insights and competitor analysis as well as continuous market intelligence to identify product gaps and guide product strategy and competitive positioning.
Technical & Commercial Coordination
- Provide high-level technical support during pre-sales, customer workshops, and product demonstrations.
- Support the Backoffice team in bid preparation for automation and protection projects.
- Define with the Global Commercial Direction the pricing strategy for the UK market.
- Own the product approval process in close coordination with the Product Management team.
- Lead project hand-over meetings to the Engineering team.
- Contract review and negotiate in collaboration with our Legal team to ensure they meet Ingeteam's internal risk criteria.
- Serve as the primary interface between UK market feedback and global product development teams.
Strategic Growth Contribution
- Identify partnerships and alliances to expand market reach.
- Contribute to annual business plans, product forecasts, and long-term strategy definition.
- Participate in industry events, standardisation forums, and technical associations to strengthen Ingeteam’s visibility.
Candidate Profile
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, or product management in the power systems industry.
- Track record of selling automation/protection products or systems to utilities (DSOs/TSOs) or large industrial clients.
- Experience working with EPCs, system integrators, or engineering consultancies.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Substation Automation Systems (SAS), SCADA, RTUs, Bay Control Units, Protection Relays / Protection functions and communications networks.
- Familiarity with UK grid standards, TSO/DSO approval processes and procurement frameworks.
- Electrical engineering background to understand basic engineering documents (substation single line diagrams, protection panel equipment layout, cabinet BOM, etc.).
Skills & Competences
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building capabilities.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong technical understanding.
- High level of initiative, ownership, and accountability for his key responsibilities.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel across the UK and occasionally internationally.
- UK driving licence.
