Job Summary As a Manufacturing Engineer at Haskel, you are expected to provide manufacturing engineering leadership, project management and sustaining engineering expertise to Sunderland or other Specialty Group manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate existing manufacturing process, maximize efficiency by analysing layout of the equipment, workflow, and workforce utilisation (Value Stream Mapping and Analysis).
  • Design and implement new fixtures and tooling utilising Lean techniques.
  • Consult with product design team for improved DFM & DFA (Design for Manufacture / Assembly).
  • Develop work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Develop training manuals and facilitate employees training.
  • Conduct time studies, evaluate and change routers as needed.
  • Continuous improvement in worker’s safety and ergonomics.
  • Write ECO and BOM change request.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or working towards.
  • Green Belt or higher in Lean and/or Six Sigma is beneficial.

Key Competencies:

  • Current experience in related manufacturing.
  • Must have proven track record in root cause identification, FMEA.
  • Excellent visualisation & conceptualisation skills.
  • Communicates clearly. Verbally can create “clear pictures” for others.
  • Unambiguous and decisive written communications (work instructions, manuals, plans, presentations, videos etc.).
  • Organisation Skills – tracks status of multiple projects. Prioritisation is key.

Desirable:

  • Experience with 3D CAD Modelling or Inventor experience is preferred.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:

Based at the Sunderland Site. Less than 10% domestic and/or international travel over a one-year period.
