Job Summary: To assemble and test a range of internal gear pumps, used across multiple industries. To be able to diagnose reason for failure and rectify.
Responsibilities:
- Build a range of gear pumps following internal SW instructions.
- Test a range of gear pumps using numerous automated test rigs, following SW instructions.
- Work with the quality engineer and line manager to diagnose faults with customer repairs.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks of tooling and basic workshop equipment following SW instructions.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, logging test data and serial number of pumps, parts used, and time spent.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to resolve technical issues.
Basic Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Proven experience in pump assembly and mechanical fitting.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems and mechanical seals.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Experience with hand tools, and measuring equipment such as dial indicators, callipers, verniers.
