Location: Ingersoll Rand – Ilkeston, Derbyshire

Job Summary: To assemble and test a range of internal gear pumps, used across multiple industries. To be able to diagnose reason for failure and rectify.

Responsibilities:

  • Build a range of gear pumps following internal SW instructions.
  • Test a range of gear pumps using numerous automated test rigs, following SW instructions.
  • Work with the quality engineer and line manager to diagnose faults with customer repairs.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks of tooling and basic workshop equipment following SW instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, logging test data and serial number of pumps, parts used, and time spent.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to resolve technical issues.

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in pump assembly and mechanical fitting.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems and mechanical seals.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Experience with hand tools, and measuring equipment such as dial indicators, callipers, verniers.
