Job Summary
The Redditch assembly site requires an experienced, high calibre, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer to join the operations support department. This role is to support existing production areas and also to provide Manufacturing Engineering support for, and to lead, when necessary, new projects.
Responsibilities
Definition of production processes for the introduction of new products / change projects, ensuring that tooling, manufacturing methods, instructions and other documentation are provided in line with project time scales, budget, and meet ISO9001/IATF 16949 requirements (as applicable), including:
- Creation/maintenance of work instructions, process flows, picklists and routings
- Change Management – Processing of ECNs and management of implementation
- Plant representation for product change requests
- Specification creation, and sourcing, of production tooling and equipment
- Creation/ maintenance of assembly area CAD layout
- Assembly area relayout/re‑organisation (including process timing and line/work balancing)
- Implementation/maintenance of production control system
- Control Plan – Manufacturing engineering support (including definition/implementation of control methods)
- PFMEA – Creation, ownership, and maintenance
- Sourcing of test equipment to meet engineering specifications
- Evaluation and analysis of product designs to formulate the most appropriate assembly processes
- Identification of productivity improvement opportunities and planning/implementation of productivity improvement activities
- Support provision for production related issue resolution
Qualifications/Skills
- Manufacturing Engineering related degree, or extensive Manufacturing Engineering experience, essential
- Industrial Engineering qualification desirable (not essential)
- Microsoft Office experience essential (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
- AutoCAD LT experience desirable (not essential)
- SAP knowledge desirable (not essential)
- Full UK Driving Licence desirable (not essential)
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
Fully site based (some travel with the UK and Europe may be required)
