United Air Power requires an Installation Technician/Pipe Fitter to join an expanding team operating out of its Chester office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, modification and commissioning of compressed air pipework and associated components at customer sites, ensuring work is delivered safely, to specification and to a high standard.

Responsibilities

  • Install, assemble and modify compressed air equipment, distribution pipework, valves, brackets and associated fittings in line with drawings and job specifications.
  • Carry out pressure testing, leak detection and commissioning of installed systems; rectify snags and produce completion information as required.
  • Read and interpret drawings, schematics and isometrics; confirm materials and dimensions prior to installation.
  • Maintain verbal and written communications with customers, contractors and suppliers in a professional manner.
  • Liaise with our technical team and office‑based personnel to communicate a clear understanding of specific job requirements, as necessary.
  • Operate in accordance with company Environmental Health and Safety guidelines and site permit‑to‑work requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Pipe Fitter/Installation Engineer, ideally within compressed air or industrial pipework environments.
  • Ability to read and work from drawings, schematics and layouts; confident in measuring, cutting and fitting pipework accurately.
  • Competent in pressure testing/ leak testing and commissioning of installed pipework systems.
  • PC literate including use of Microsoft Office Suite for job documentation and reporting.
  • Full driving licence.

Travel & Work Arrangements / Requirements

  • Field based role, operating out of our Chester Office.
  • Must be willing to travel within the UK region.

  • Ability to work alone possessing a balanced judgement.
  • Commercial Awareness.
  • Willing to travel to customer sites at short notice.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in pipe fitting/installation within industrial environments (compressed air preferred).
  • Ability to communicate well and work as part of a team.
  • Must be customer centric.
  • Must have experience in all types of compressed air technologies.
