Job Summary
Join a technically driven organization serving global Oil & Gas, Energy, Chemical, and related sectors. The Engineering Document Controller is responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining engineering and technical documentation to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance with company standards and project requirements. This role supports engineering teams by controlling document flow throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Establish, implement, and maintain document control procedures and systems
- Receive, register, distribute, track, and archive engineering documents (drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, etc.)
- Ensure documents are properly reviewed, approved, version-controlled, and issued
- Maintain document registers and transmittal records
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, contractors, and clients regarding document submissions and revisions
- Ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory document control standards (ISO, QA/QC requirements, etc.)
- Manage electronic document management systems (EDMS) and consider confidentiality and access control
- Monitor deadlines and follow up on overdue documents
- Support audits by providing accurate and traceable documentation
- Archive and hand over project documentation at project close-out
Basic Qualifications
- Diploma / Degree preferred in a suitable discipline, but not essential.
- Proven experience as a Document Controller, preferably in engineering, construction, or industrial projects
- Strong understanding of document control processes and standards
- Proficiency in EDMS tools and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.)
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple documents and priorities under deadlines
- Experience with large-scale engineering or EPC projects
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical terminology
- Experience of using Document Control systems would be an added advantage
