  • Job Summary

Working within the e Mobility team, the S&S engineer will act as the primary contact between Gardner Denver and our network of UK electric bus operators and service partners.

They will provide on‑site technical support as well as performing routine service and repair work for the GD fleet in the field.

The S&S engineer will also actively seek opportunities to grow the revenue generated from our AMT and service offerings and manage the bid processes for fleet spare parts tenders.

This is a critical role within the UK e Mobility organisation with a broad scope for developing the UK service offering and for future progression within the Transport organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for bus operators utilizing Gardner Denver e Mobility compressors throughout the UK & Ireland.
  • Perform the inspection and diagnosis of e Compressor faults in service including on‑site testing and analysis.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repair works on‑site where possible.
  • Identify and convert aftermarket revenue opportunities within the customer base including supply of service parts and packages.
  • Work closely with the commercial, PM & Quality teams to resolve issues and act as the Vo C.
  • Develop understanding of the wider UK bus operator network and develop market awareness of GDTS.
  • Provide related technical training and support to the bus operators network.
  • Support the AMT & service activities of the wider e Mobility business in EMEIA as needed.
  • Basic Qualifications
  • Time Served apprenticeship or HNC in Engineering or other technical discipline. Equivalent experience or suitable training qualifications will be considered.
  • Proven experience of working in a service, engineering or technical support environment.
  • Commercial and financial awareness.
  • Willingness to travel both in UK and infrequently in Europe, as required.
  • Willingness to work outside of standard office hours including flexibility on start/finish times to suit the Customer’s needs.

  • Extensive UK travel and openness for limited European/global travel.
  • Regular visits to the Redditch e Mobility centre.
  • Approximately 3 days per week at customer sites.
