  • Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead a team of skilled operatives at our factory in Redditch.

The role involves overseeing daily production activities, ensuring quality standards, and driving operational efficiency in the manufacture of large air compressors.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate production activities to meet output/quality targets
  • Monitor and drive KPI performance (e. g., efficiency, scrap rates, downtime).
  • Ensure correct skill level of their factory, using skills matrix to identify gaps and organise training to support.
  • Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage staffing levels, shift cover, and absence (including return to works and absence reviews)
  • Liaise with HR to lead disciplinary/investigation meetings
  • Conduct performance reviews and support development of Team Leaders.
  • Liaise with support functions to drive improvement (e. g., Man Eng, EHS, Quality, HR).
  • Ensure compliance against company policy and procedure.
  • Basic Qualifications
  • Proven experience in a managerial/supervisory role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of mechanical assembly and production processes
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • IT literate (MS Office, ERP systems)
