Job Title: Quality Technician
Location: Haskel – Sunderland

Job Summary
The Quality Technician shall support the Quality Team in managing the site Quality Assurance systems, supporting the development, implementation and maintaining the necessary quality criteria. They should take a lead role in the QC of all builds ensuring products are to drawings and to specification. They will ensure supplier product conformance. They must ensure that customer and supplier quality issues are expeditiously addressed and implement appropriate quality assurance procedures and techniques to assure compliance with applicable specifications, such as, tolerances, material standards and product performance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement processes to support quality goals and objectives.
- Prepare quality plans, quality checklists, procedures and instructions in accordance with the company QA policies.
- Work with Engineering and manufacturing to develop improvements in designs and manufacturing techniques.
- Ensure that all products confirm specifications and requirements.
- Carry out investigative research (RCA) on defective products and equipment ensuring no further repeats.
- Make internal reporting about QA activities.
- Carry out incoming and outgoing inspections.
Basic Qualifications
- HNC or equivalent experience
- 3 years in a quality assurance or manufacturing environment
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
Site based in Sunderland with occasional travel as necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role.
Key Competencies
- Knowledge and understanding of engineered drawings.
- Experience in checking machined and fabricated components.
- Experience with measuring tools. (CMM, surface finish, PMI)
- FMEA
- RCA (5 Whys / 8D/ Ishikawa)
