Quality Line Inspector – High Pressure
Location: Redditch
Job Summary
As a quality inspector, you will play a critical role in upholding IR’s Quality and Production standards. This position involves meticulously inspecting for defects and cosmetic imperfections and ensuring the functionality of the product.
Responsibilities
- Inspect high pressure, reciprocating compressor blocks of various sizes within the designated time frames, to high standards.
- Inspect a wide variety of sub-assemblies for compressors and aftermarket use
- Inspect custom engineered compressor sets with limited instruction.
- Accurately read and interpret general arrangement drawings, manuals and written instructions.
- Inspect product stored at offsite locations.
- Ensure Health and Safety policies are adhered to and requirements are maintained.
- Assist in problem solving and potentially repair compressors in the event of test failures.
- Work in a lean environment and continually strive to improve the work environment and methods.
- Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required within the scope of the role.
- Audit people and processes to ensure that high quality product is produced.
- Contain non-conforming materials.
Basic Qualifications
- Driving licence
- Experience in a similar inspection role or production environment
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Problem solving skills (Quality Core skills)
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
Fully site based at Redditch. Occasional visits to offsite warehouse for inspections of electrical equipment

- Inspection and validation of product
- Ensuring all additional equipment is shipped as per drawing
- Production of KPI’s
- Auditing
- Production of certification documentation
- Ensuring that production processes comply with standards through auditing
- Supporting calibration activities within plant
