Overview
Production Supervisor – High Pressure in Redditch. Gardner Denver is a leading provider of mission-critical flow control and compression equipment and related aftermarket parts, consumables, and services across industrial, energy, and medical markets. The role involves leading a team of skilled operatives at our Redditch factory, overseeing daily production activities, ensuring quality standards, and driving operational efficiency in the manufacture of large air compressors.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate production activities to meet output and quality targets
- Monitor and drive KPI performance (e.g., efficiency, scrap rates, downtime)
- Assess factory skills using a skills matrix, identify gaps, and organise training to support
- Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage staffing levels, shift cover, and absence, including return-to-work and absence reviews
- Liaise with HR to lead disciplinary/investigation meetings
- Conduct performance reviews and support development of Team Leaders
- Liaise with support functions to drive improvements (e.g., Manufacturing Engineering, EHS, Quality, HR)
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Basic Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of mechanical assembly and production processes
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- IT literate (MS Office, ERP systems)
