The Role
The Junior IT Technician reports to the IT Operations Manager and is responsible for providing first-line IT support to Ingentive staff, assisting with general IT administration, and contributing to the smooth running of internal IT operations. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to start a career in IT with strong exposure to support, infrastructure, and compliance practices including GDPR and ISO 27001/27018. The role is hands-on and service-focused, ideal for someone eager to learn and grow in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line support to users via ticketing system, email, or in person.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues across laptops, desktops, and peripherals.
- Set up and configure new devices for starters and replacements.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 user support and access issues.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes including system access and device management.
- Assist in basic cybersecurity awareness support and implementation of IT best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets and user allocations.
- Support license tracking and inventory alongside the IT Operations Manager.
- Document internal IT procedures and FAQs to support team knowledge and consistency.
- Collaborate with departments such as HR to support smooth onboarding and offboarding.
- Assist with tasks related to ISO 27001 and GDPR compliance as directed by the IT Operations Manager.
- Provide remote support to users working in hybrid or remote settings.
- Support senior IT staff on IT projects, including infrastructure or process improvements.
Quality Measures
- Responsiveness and resolution of IT tickets within agreed SLAs.
- User satisfaction and professionalism in IT support delivery.
- Accuracy and upkeep of IT asset records and account records.
- Support provided to the IT Operations Manager in line with expectations.
- Adherence to security and compliance protocols (e.g., GDPR, ISO, Cyber Essentials).
