An established US-based construction advisory and disputes firm is expanding into the UK market and is seeking a Construction Disputes Lead to launch and grow its London presence. This is a founding leadership role with full responsibility for building a UK platform covering claims, disputes, expert services, and litigation support. You will have a genuine opportunity to shape strategy, hire a team, win work, and establish market presence, with a clear pathway to equity or partnership for the right individual.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment and growth of the UK construction disputes practice
  • Develop and execute the UK market entry strategy
  • Originate and deliver work across:
  • Construction claims & disputes
  • Expert witness and litigation support
  • Delay analysis, quantum, and forensic advisory
  • Act as a senior client-facing leader, trusted by law firms, contractors, developers, and funders
  • Recruit, mentor, and build a high-calibre UK team
  • Collaborate closely with US leadership on cross-border matters and client development
  • Represent the firm in the UK market through thought leadership and industry presence
  • Profile

    • Senior disputes professional currently operating at Director, Partner, or equivalent level
    • Strong background in construction claims, disputes, or expert services
    • Experience acting as Expert, Lead Consultant, or senior advisor on complex matters
    • Established UK legal and construction network (law firms, clients, or both)
    • Commercial mindset with a proven ability to win work
    • Entrepreneurial approach and comfort with building something from the ground up
