We are recruiting an experienced Project Accountant to play a key role in a major finance transformation programme for a successful and growing multi-site hospitality group operating bars, restaurants and hotels across the UK.
The business is currently implementing Oracle NetSuite, with go-live scheduled for April 2027. The programme is already underway, with initial work progressing across the Chart of Accounts, financial reporting structure and subsidiary set-up.
They are now looking to appoint a hands-on Project Accountant who can take ownership of the finance workstream, working closely with senior finance leadership, operational stakeholders and the external implementation partner to ensure a successful delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous NetSuite implementation experience who wants to take a leading role in a high-profile, business-wide transformation programme.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Controller , you will lead the finance elements of the Oracle NetSuite implementation, helping ensure the new system is designed and configured to support the requirements of a complex, high-volume, multi-site business.
You will act as a key link between Finance, Operations, IT and the implementation partner, helping to shape future finance processes, oversee financial data migration and testing, and prepare the wider finance team for go-live.
The role will cover the full implementation lifecycle through to go-live and post-implementation support.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the finance workstream for the Oracle NetSuite implementation.
- Act as a key liaison between Finance, Operations, IT and the external implementation partner.
- Review and refine the Chart of Accounts, cost centre structure and financial reporting configuration.
- Ensure NetSuite is configured to meet the reporting and operational requirements of a complex multi-site business.
- Support the design and implementation of streamlined finance processes and robust internal controls.
- Oversee the cleansing, validation and migration of financial master data.
- Coordinate and execute finance testing, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Identify opportunities for system improvements and recommend finance best practice.
- Support the implementation and configuration of key finance areas, including:
- General Ledger
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Fixed Assets
- Bank Reconciliations
- Intercompany Accounting
- Multi-Entity Reporting
- Develop finance process documentation and user guides.
- Support the training of finance users ahead of implementation.
- Help drive change management and user adoption across the finance function.
- Troubleshoot implementation issues and work with project stakeholders to keep delivery milestones on track.
- Provide post-go-live support and help ensure a smooth transition into business-as-usual.
About You
We are looking for a qualified accountant with strong finance systems experience and, importantly, previous hands-on involvement in an Oracle NetSuite implementation.
You will ideally have:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
- Previous hands-on experience implementing Oracle NetSuite.
- Strong knowledge of core finance processes, accounting principles and financial controls.
- Experience designing or restructuring Charts of Accounts and financial reporting structures.
- Experience of finance systems testing, UAT, data migration and process redesign.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- The confidence to work with and influence stakeholders across both Finance and Operations.
- A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
