Ingenio is partnering with a leading digital engineering consultancy to hire a Technical Director to strengthen its technical leadership and delivery organisation.
This is a senior, client-facing role for an engineering leader who can architect complex software solutions, apply AI in practice and lead multiple engineering teams through large-scale technical programmes.
This is not a traditional Programme Director or Delivery Manager role. Strong technical credibility, practical AI experience and the ability to lead complex engineering initiatives are non-negotiable.
What You'll Do:
- Own the technical direction of complex engineering programmes involving multiple teams.
- Partner with senior clients to understand business challenges and shape appropriate technical solutions.
- Define architecture, engineering team structures, timelines and delivery approaches.
- Lead the design and integration of AI-enabled solutions in real-world environments.
- Oversee technical execution, manage risks and maintain engineering quality.
- Contribute to discovery, solution shaping and pre-sales where required.
- Package up to £170k + 20% bonus + commission
What We're Looking For
- Strong software engineering and complex solution architecture experience.
- Practical AI experience, including designing, building or integrating AI-enabled solutions.
- Proven leadership of multiple engineering teams and large technical programmes.
- Confidence engaging with CIOs, CTOs and senior business stakeholders.
- Broad expertise across software engineering, architecture, cloud and modern development practices.
- Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical solutions and delivery plans.
Consulting, professional services and pre-sales experience are desirable, but not essential.
