Department Overview:
The Financial Markets (FM) landscape is rapidly going through a process of digitisation at the core of which is eTrading. eTrading at ING covers all products traded in ING FM. These span from the very liquid and electronic products (cash equities, futures, commodities, and FX) to Fixed Income products (corporate and government bonds) which are in the process of becoming electronic due to balance sheet reduction and regulation, to the less liquid and less electronic derivative products. Data is core to eTrading and eTrading also covers the data and business intelligence strategy.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:
As the lead KDB developer, you will be part of the eTrading team and will be responsible for development and strategic direction of the KDB solution. Expected responsibilities will include:
- Scale our architecture to support different business use cases and data growth.
- Development of tools for automated testing, monitoring, and deployment.
- Design infrastructure and develop software for load balancing and optimisation.
- Help lead our core development and business intelligence teams develop tools for data analytics and monitoring for sales trading and business.
- Help architect the collection of alternative data sources.

Experience/Knowledge:

- 5 years of working experience with KDB/Q.
- Demonstrable interest and aptitude for data analysis.
- Experience with designing KDB solutions for trading.
- Experience in data storage and access optimisations.
- Experience with automated testing.
- Team lead experience.

- Experience with KDB dashboards.
- Experience with the entire software development life cycle.
- Java and Python experience.
