Department Overview

ING Wholesale Banking ("WB") is looking to hire a Credit Insurance Portfolio and Business Operations Manager for its Credit Insurance (CPRI) team to be based in London. The Credit Insurance team coordinates the Bank's efforts in insuring loans on a global basis. The team is part of the Loan Distribution Group ("LDG"), which includes Loan Syndicate, Loan Sales and Structured Distribution Solutions. LDG is one of the five functions within ING's Capital Markets and Advisory ("CMA") division alongside Global Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, Corporate Investments and Acquisition Finance.

ING is a recognised buyer of credit insurance with a strong reputation for credit quality and variety of sectors. Growth is expected to continue spurred by Basel 4, capital velocity requirements and collaboration with Structured Distribution Solutions (Significant Risk Transfers involving mezzanine tranches) and Capital Management.

As part of the team, you will be in charge of monitoring the whole CPRI portfolio, coordinating the product globally, monitoring and maintaining secondary limits on insurers, liaising with our two brokers and directly with some insurers, and improving internal processes. Having the ability to deal with both internal and external stakeholders is a must.

Experience/Knowledge/Skills

  • At least 5 years' banking experience.
  • In a portfolio manager or business manager role, or in the credit insurance sector in a portfolio manager or business manager role.
  • Stakeholder management (internal and external).
  • Task prioritisation and multitasking.
  • Initiative-taking and problem-solving.

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role

  • Monitor the whole CPRI portfolio and coordinate the product globally (London, US and APAC).
  • Liaise with CPRI Operations team to ensure effective in‑life management of the portfolio.
  • Coordinate onboarding and in‑life management of insurers and brokers such as KYC and NDA wording.
  • Approve and verify all exposures to insurers, the use of brokers and coordinate tax checks.
  • Manage exposures to all insurers in line with the Risk Framework and Risk approvals.
  • Report credit exposure on insurers to Risk, dashboards, revenues, and distribution volumes to Management.
  • Coordinate regular reviews of 50+ insurer groups to enable Risk to understand and approve the structure and reinsurance programmes of the insurers and the business that we place with them, and prepare memos to maintain and increase secondary limits on insurers.
  • Responsible for setting up all operational processes for the global CPRI team and ensuring that they are understood and actioned effectively.
  • Write new or update procedures and disseminate them to the CPRI Principals.
  • Manage and resolve ad‑hoc queries of all levels of complexity by utilising internal and external network.
  • Coordinate adequate support for the product from all functions within the Bank (Legal, Risk, etc.).
  • Organise ING Insurance Day sessions and other ad‑hoc presentations to insurers.
  • Support other CPRI colleagues on team projects.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with brokers and insurers and all other stakeholders.
