Department Overview
Nestled within the international network of ING Wholesale Banking, the Corporate Audit Services (CAS) team for Wholesale Banking (WB) EMEA helps ING accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. Tasked with a regional mandate, CAS's mission extends to performing operational audits across the European Wholesale Banking network, where auditors, working with a degree of autonomy, traverse the EMEA region, including Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Ukraine, Austria, Switzerland, France, and the United Kingdom. These audits, conducted in international teams, involve international travel and collaboration with colleagues from Amsterdam and the region. Through a systematic, risk-based audit approach, CAS not only audits but also advises on best practices, supports business management, and conducts special investigations.
Candidate Profile
- Qualification/Education
- Essential: University Degree in a relevant field such as accounting, finance or banking or equivalent professional qualification.
- Desirable: Certifications in CIA/CPA/ICAS or a commitment to pursue CIA equivalent education within 18 months.
- Essential: 3-4 years Wholesale Banking and/or Big Four Audit experience.
- Desirable: Experience with international payments systems and/or (out)sourcing governance.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:
- Participate in planning, fieldwork, and reporting stages of assigned audits across the Wholesale B EMEA region.
- Develop an audit work program with guidance from senior colleagues.
- Execute audits by assessing the design and effectiveness of key controls.
- Follow CAS Audit manual and approved audit work program, using data analytics when applicable.
- Assess compliance with laws, regulations, and ING policies.
- Update senior audit team members on emerging issues during fieldwork.
- Identify control deficiencies and evaluate audit results, including risk assessment.
- Provide recommendations to improve controls and operational efficiency.
- Communicate audit results and conclusions effectively within the team and with clients.
- Support senior audit team members in executing audit activities according to CAS quality standards.
- Complete assigned work papers in the audit software tool on time and with required quality.
- Support the Local Head of CAS with tasks such as audit planning, issue follow-up, and ad hoc requirements.
