Overview
Financial Markets (FM) is the Bank’s gateway to professional markets worldwide, servicing ING’s clients with products, services, and guidance. FM aims to be a market leader and challenger in major international markets, with expertise in emerging markets and specific products.
The ING Financial Markets Center of Expertise (CoE) Regulatory acts as the front office\’s single access point for regulatory programs. The CoE manages regulatory deliverables, maintains stakeholder relationships, and stays updated on new regulations. It is organized around four pillars: regulatory outlook and advice, regulatory deliverables, non-financial risk and control, and data management.
The Role
We seek a Regulation & Non-Financial Risk Vice President to join the UK FM CoE Regulation and Non-Financial Risk team. Responsibilities include:
- Leading UK FM regulatory horizon scanning and impact analysis, presenting findings for review, and advising on regulatory implementation projects.
- Interpreting emerging UK regulatory developments in the context of UK FM business and managing associated Non-Financial Risks.
- Supporting prioritization of regulatory obligations and ensuring risk tolerance adherence within UK FM.
- Providing regulatory support and insights to the UK FM business, representing the team in industry bodies like AFME, UK Finance, and ICMA.
- Identifying and escalating misconduct related to Sales & Trading activities, including rogue trading, aligning with Conduct Risk frameworks.
- Assisting the UK FM business lines to operate within risk parameters and strengthening control standards.
Candidate Profile
- Degree educated with 6+ years’ experience in Front Office Financial Markets; professional qualifications in legal, regulatory, compliance, accounting, or consulting are a plus.
- Strong understanding of UK regulatory and legislative obligations, including the Financial Services and Markets Act, FCA Handbook, PRA Rulebook, HM Treasury regulations, and legislation.gov.uk.
- Proactive, self-motivated, persuasive, and collaborative team player.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with experience managing conduct and non-financial risk.
- Ability to work independently, escalate issues appropriately, and consider the bigger picture.
- Resilient under pressure, aligned with ING values, and eager to bring innovative solutions.
