Our Graduate Programme is designed for ambitious individuals who want to shape the future of banking while developing their skills in a dynamic, international environment. Our Early Careers offerings are built to ignite your passion and accelerate your professional and personal growth.

The ING UK Graduate Programme will provide you with hands‐on experience and broad exposure to the banking world over 12 months. You will work as an integral part of a team, helping to deliver impactful solutions for ING in a specific department. We offer opportunities across three streams:

  • Financial Markets – Sales and Trading
  • Front Office – Capital Markets & Advisory and Corporate Banking
  • Support & Control functions – Risk, Technology and Research

In the Financial Markets stream you will:

  • Gain a valuable opportunity to learn more about Financial Markets via (at least) 2 rotations within Sales and Trading desks, with an aim to upskill talent and prepare you for future roles within the organisation.

During the programme you will be working as part of one of our Sales or Trading teams and there will be many opportunities to develop yourself, both professionally and personally. During the programme you will learn different skills across your rotations:

  • Develop an understanding of the different asset classes and products we offer
  • Learn how the solutions we offer differ depending on client type and needs
  • Work closely with clients and sales colleagues, as well as trading, sector teams and risk
  • Research to ensure we deliver the best service and solutions to our clients
  • Keep up-to-date with market events and learn how to formulate your own views
  • Bring ideas to the table on how we can create solutions that meet client needs.

Key Skills and Requirements

  • Ideally Masters educated in a mathematics / finance / economics / engineering field
  • Genuinely interested in the banking industry and financial markets
  • Aware and have a comprehensive understanding of the current global economic landscape;
  • Able to communicate their ideas in a concise manner
  • Aspiring towards a career within Financial Markets (Sales or Trading)
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Able to show a wider skillset with experience gained via years abroad, participation in sports or doing voluntary work, for example.
