The ING UK Graduate Programme will provide you with hands‐on experience and broad exposure to the banking world over 12 months. You will work as an integral part of a team, helping to deliver impactful solutions for ING in a specific department. We offer opportunities across three streams:

  • Financial Markets – Sales and Trading
  • Front Office – Capital Markets & Advisory and Corporate Banking
  • Support & Control functions – Risk, Technology and Research

In the CMA stream you will have the opportunity to join one of the following teams on a 12-month programme:

  • Corporate Finance (M&A and DCA): The Corporate Finance team in London provides advisory services across a broad range of M&A and Debt & Capital Advisory (DCA) transactions, including buy‐side and sell‐side mandates, buy‐outs, equity and debt capital raises, and project finance advisory. The team covers the EMEA region across multiple sectors, including Energy, Commodities & New Technologies, Transport & Infrastructure, TMT, Food & Agriculture, Private Equity Advisory and Financial Institutions.
  • Acquisition Finance: The Acquisition Finance team supports PE and corporate clients by providing debt financing solutions for LBOs and recapitalisations. The team originates and executes transactions across industries for some of the world's most sophisticated investors, consistently ranking within the top 10 Leveraged Finance Bookrunners in EMEA with a strong presence across Europe, North America and Asia.
  • Debt Capital Markets: The DCM team in London spans High Yield Origination, High Yield Syndicate, Sovereigns Supranational & Agencies, MTNs/ Private Placements, and Liability Management. The role involves executing bond transactions, advising clients on deal structuring and documentation, and preparing investor materials.
  • Loan Syndication: The Loan Distribution Group is a dedicated distribution platform for all of ING's financing activities in the primary and secondary loan markets and also covers the insurance market as risk and/or capital distribution tool. The London team covers the EMEA region across Leveraged Finance, Real Estate, Corporate and Financial Institution‐related transactions from a capital markets perspective and supports the wider Sector & Lending teams from a loan sales and insurance market perspective.
  • Loan Sales: The Loan Sales team interacts with the global loan investor community which includes other banks, insurance companies, pension funds or investment managers, for all debt transactions where loans and loan‐based products are distributed. Transactions include primary loan syndications or secondary loan sales across a wide range of sectors.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Demonstrated affinity for Corporate Finance and Capital Markets. Strong interest in at least one area in CMA.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines, willingness to go the extra mile and be proactive.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal – fluency in English is a must, additional European languages are a plus.
