e FX OPS Functional Engineer

As an OPS Functional Engineer in the e FX Capability Team, you'll work on high-performance, real-time trading systems that directly impact pricing, liquidity, and client experience worldwide.

The Team
Broadway is ING’s Front Office e FX platform, supporting FX trading, pricing, hedging, liquidity management, and client services.
It combines in-house pricing systems with vendor trading platforms in a high-performance, low-latency environment.
The e FX Capability Team operates globally across London, Bucharest, and Singapore, with 7 OPS engineers working in Agile Dev Ops squads alongside business stakeholders, developers, and vendor teams.
Roles and Responsibilities
As an OPS Functional Engineer, you will support and enhance the Broadway platform, balancing operational support (30%) with delivery and continuous improvement (70%).
Key responsibilities include
- Providing L1/L2 production support, incident resolution, and participation in an on-call rota.
- Managing incidents (internal and vendor), problems, and changes, including writing user stories and driving root‑cause analysis.
- Gathering and analysing business requirements and translating them into functional and technical solutions.
- Designing test automation and end‑to‑end testing frameworks (e. g. Playwright, Python‑based testing frameworks).
- Driving automation (e. g. Playwright), monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, etc), scripting, and environment improvements using modern Dev Ops practices.
- Collaborating with Product Owners, developers, vendors, and business stakeholders across multiple locations.
- Contributing to backlog management, release testing, and continuous service improvement.

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for solving complex business challenges.
You will thrive if you have
- 5+ years’ experience in Financial Markets, ideally with supporting FX or e FX trading platforms.
- Experience as an OPS, Functional Engineer, or Dev Ops professional supporting business‑critical applications.
- Strong knowledge of FX products, Agile delivery methodology, and software development lifecycles.
- Hands‑on experience with SQL, Python, testing, and automation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, monitoring tools, Linux environments, and Azure Dev Ops is advantageous.
- A proactive, self‑starting mindset and the confidence to work independently.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A collaborative approach, curiosity to learn, and a drive to continuously improve systems and processes.
