Department Overview
ING is a family friendly organisation operating a flexible hybrid working pattern. Relationship Managers are office based a minimum of 3 days per week. Financial Institutions manages ING's relationships on a global basis with our most important financial institution clients. We are a true multi-product coverage unit, fully aligned with our product, risk management and network colleagues. Our focus is to provide pro-active, solutions driven origination to our clients and to deliver excellent execution across the full range of transaction banking and high value-added products. The role is within the UK Financial Institutions team, part of sector coverage organisation, where we focus on delivering ING’s services and products to banks, insurance companies and non-bank financial institutions located in the UK and Ireland.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role
- Client Information Management: Maintaining accurate client information, understanding and monitoring client dealings and external client relations in the market environment, reporting on client profitability and account condition, co-ordinating internal departments when working on a deal and then developing and implementing the required communications channels, developing internal relationships, maintaining and monitoring data quality and keeping the required internal systems up to date, processing CDD requests.
- Research & Analysis: Providing client data and background information to facilitate business development, providing peer analysis of clients on a proactive basis, assisting the RM in identifying critical business issues and potential business/cross-sell opportunities.
- Origination: Assisting in the origination for products from all relevant ING business lines, preparing briefing memos for client meetings, commentary for credit presentations and annual client relationship plans in close co-operation with the RM, product specialists and ING offices abroad, liaising with product specialists and foreign ING offices, preparing commercial input for credit applications, modifications, reviews and green light committees.
Candidate Profile
Qualification/Education Essential: Well-qualified academically with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
Experience/Knowledge Essential: 1-3 years’ experience in coverage, ideally Financial Institutions, basic knowledge of products such as Lending, Debt Capital Markets, Transaction Services, Financial Markets, and M&A.
Personal Competencies Essential: Self-motivated individual who can meet strict deadlines, strong verbal and written communication, team player with strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
