Acquisition Finance Portfolio Management Associate About the Role We have an exciting opportunity to join ING's Acquisition Finance Portfolio Management (AF PM) team in London.
As an Associate within our front-office lending team, you will help manage a portfolio of leveraged finance transactions, supporting portfolio performance, credit monitoring, and capital optimisation initiatives.
You will work closely with colleagues across Acquisition Finance Origination, Capital Markets & Advisory, Transaction Approval & Control, Legal, and other lending teams, while building strong relationships across the wider business.
Key Responsibilities Portfolio Management & Credit Monitoring Support Portfolio Managers in the day-to-day management of Acquisition Finance clients and transactions.
Conduct ongoing credit analysis, covenant monitoring, and financial performance reviews.
Assist with refinancings, amendments, waivers, and other credit modifications.
Identify and escalate potential credit concerns and early warning indicators.
Support restructuring and workout situations when required.
Portfolio Reporting & Analytics Prepare portfolio reports, risk reviews, and management information.
Contribute to quarterly Credit Risk Management, Watchlist, and Loan Loss Provision reviews.
Maintain portfolio databases, trackers, and performance metrics.
Support lending limit management and capital velocity initiatives, including loan sales and risk transfer programmes.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with Relationship Managers and sector specialists to support client discussions and identify business opportunities.
Contribute to cross-sell initiatives and portfolio-driven growth opportunities.
Collaborate with offshore support teams and internal stakeholders across functions and regions.
Continuous Improvement Support process improvement and transformation initiatives.
Help enhance credit monitoring and operational efficiency.
Contribute to the development of junior colleagues and new joiners.
What We're Looking For Experience & Qualifications University degree (CFA and/or MBA advantageous).3+ years' experience in lending, leveraged finance, credit analysis, or portfolio management.
Strong financial analysis and cashflow modelling skills.
Advanced Excel and Power Point skills; Power BI is beneficial.
Exposure to Acquisition Finance, Project Finance, Infrastructure, Energy, Transport, Technology, or other specialised lending sectors is desirable.
French and/or Spanish language skills are beneficial but not essential.
Skills & Competencies Strong credit and analytical capabilities.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Collaborative team player with the ability to work across functions and regions.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Knowledge of lending documentation and credit processes.
