We have a great opportunity to join Transaction Management (TM) as Vice President or Junior Director.
This is a mid-level lending professional role within the front office. As player-coach, you will carry primary responsibility for some of the key processes related to lending transactions, along with guiding junior bankers that execute new lending transactions.
You will work closely with the client relationship managers and sector experts to originate new lending transactions. The work will be fast-paced and multifaceted. On the team, you will focus on one core Sector (preferably Fund Finance), but you will also be exposed to, and expected to work with, other sectors in which ING specializes. The vacancy involves contact with clients, prospects, other banks, technical and legal advisors and frequent cooperation with internal departments such as Credit Risk Management, Legal, and Deal Execution.
Candidate Profile
Qualification/Education
Essential:
- University level education in finance/economics/accounting/management/engineering (or similar);
Experience/Knowledge
Essential:
- 7+ years of relevant banking experience at a leading financial institution;
- Experience with both corporate and project finance loan origination and execution;
- Understanding of debt capital markets;
- Strong credit skills including ability to build financial models;
- Experience in negotiation of loan documentation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:
The Transaction Management team will be involved in every new lending transaction, working closely with the client relationship managers and/or the Deal Principals. TM will take responsibility for many of the key processes, which include, inter alia:
- Preparing and efficiently processing of credit approval packages;
- Financial modelling with sensitivity analysis and validation of key assumptions;
- Running internal models including risk ratings and loan pricing, and interfacing with risk management on risk appetite;
- Managing the internal and external deal execution process;
- Preparation of marketing materials;
- Involvement in term sheet negotiations and other legal documentation;
- Analysis of different transaction structures and providing recommendations;
- Review of due diligence;
- Comp analysis of debt structures, performance metrics and debt pricing;
- Working with and coaching junior colleagues by supporting them in their personal and professional development.
