A technology-focused organisation based in Coventry is seeking an experienced Lead Test Engineer to take ownership of quality assurance across a suite of C#/.NET applications and API-driven services. This is a hands-on leadership role, offering a blend of technical testing and team leadership within a collaborative, engineering-led environment.
As Lead Test Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and driving the testing strategy while remaining actively involved in day-to-day testing activities. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and own the testing strategy for C#/.NET software
- Hands-on testing across backend applications and APIs
- Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases
- API testing using Postman (collections, environments, automation)
- Review requirements and ensure robust test coverage
- Identify, track, and manage defects through to resolution
- Mentor and support junior and mid-level QA engineers
- Champion QA best practices, tools, and processes
- Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum delivery environment
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Lead or Senior Test Engineer
- Strong experience testing C#/.NET applications
- Solid API testing experience using Postman
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies and SDLC
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Desirable Skills
- Test automation experience
- CI/CD and DevOps exposure
- Microservices or distributed systems testing
- SQL or database testing experience
