Position: QA Software Engineer Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week in our Solihull office Please note we are not able to provide sponsorship About the Role: We're seeking a detail-oriented QA Software Engineer to support the testing of our mobile applications and embedded systems. Working closely with our development team, you'll play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software, covering both manual and automated testing processes. Beyond testing mobile apps, you will be involved in verifying backend services, embedded firmware, and supporting future cloud testing initiatives. Your work will directly contribute to the overall performance and reliability of our technology. The role requires regular in-office collaboration, so you'll need to be available to work from our Solihull office 2-3 days per week. Key Responsibilities: Conduct functional, regression, and stress testing for mobile applications. Develop and execute automated unit tests for APIs and backend systems. Perform validation checks on embedded software. Assist in defining and refining testing strategies. Document test results, report defects, and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues efficiently.Required Skills & Experience: 1-6 years' experience in software testing. Strong knowledge of test case design and execution. Hands-on experience with functional, usability, and performance testing. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Familiarity with test case management tools (e.g., TestRail). Experience in defect tracking and resolution.Preferred Skills & Experience: Experience with automated unit testing. Previous experience testing mobile applications on iOS and Android. Exposure to embedded systems testing. Understanding of REST API testing. Strong documentation skills.
