Bender UK is seeking an experienced and commercially minded leader to take responsibility for the strategic and operational delivery of our commercial function.
The Commercial Manager will oversee pricing, quoting, bids and tenders, and end to end order processing to ensure the delivery of commercially sound, technically compliant, and customer focused outcomes. This position also carries direct leadership responsibility for our Sales Coordinator team, ensuring they operate as a cohesive, high performing function.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain pricing structures for technical products and solutions, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
- Lead the review and approval of pricing, discounts, and commercial terms in alignment with delegated authority.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate, technically aligned quotations, bids, and tenders.
- Ensure efficient and compliant processing of customer orders, maintaining strong controls over order entry and documentation.
- Resolve complex pricing or contractual issues in collaboration with sales, engineering, and operations teams.
- Provide regular reporting on pricing performance, margins, order intake, and bid activity.
- Work cross functionally with Sales, Technical, Operations, Finance, and Procurement to support business objectives.
- Identify and implement improvements to commercial and order management processes.
Skills and experience required
- Proven experience in a Commercial Manager, Sales Operations Manager, or similar role within a technical or engineering environment.
- Strong leadership capability with experience developing teams.
- In depth knowledge of pricing, quoting, bids and tenders, and order processing.
- Ability to interpret technical information and create commercial proposals.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with ERP, CRM, and quotation systems.
