Network Support Engineer
Cisco, Nexus, Checkpoint, Palo Alto
£350 – £400 p/day – Inside IR35
This role is based in Scotland and will require travel in the area – you will need to have your own vehicle and UK Driving licence.
Network Engineer to travel (mileage expensed) to multiple sites within Scotland and complete assessments for one of my clients’ major customers’ existing network infrastructure. You will identify any immediate issues at each site and document the findings as part of the novation of management from incumbent team to IT Network team. Once assessments are complete, you will work with the wider Network team to carry out configuration and hardware changes to the networks.
Key Skills:
- In-depth knowledge LAN Network technologies (predominantly Cisco) and L2/L3 protocols
- Firewalls and security experience (Checkpoint & Palo Alto)
- Hands on experience configuring & supporting Cisco Switches (IOS, IOS-XE, Nexus) and Routers.
- Hands on experience configuring & supporting Checkpoint & Palo Alto Firewalls
- Previous experience in conducting network audits and can create detailed network diagrams and documentation.
- Preferably CCNP certified or able to demonstrative technical hands-on knowledge at that level
- Must have own vehicle and full clean UK licence.
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out onsite audits, documenting the whole of the OT network infrastructure and any connected devices at each site
- Creating and updating network diagrams and other supporting documentation based on initial audit findings to ensure all OT network elements are clearly documented.
- Able to work unsupervised and prioritise own workstreams and deliver to tight deadlines.
