We're partnering with a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) in Southampton that is looking for an experienced Lead Security Engineer.
This is a fantastic opportunity to combine hands‑on technical expertise with people leadership, helping to shape and develop a modern, high-performing SOC.
You’ll lead a team of talented analysts, drive continuous improvement, own the security technology stack, and play a key role in delivering exceptional cyber security services to customers.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Hands‑on experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR and modern security tooling.
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex security incidents.
- Drive incident response, investigations and post-incident reviews.
- Own and enhance the SOC tooling environment, including SIEM, SOAR and EDR platforms.
- Work closely with engineering teams to improve automation and operational efficiency.
- Oversee the onboarding of new customers, including log ingestion, alert tuning and use case development.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase SOC maturity and capability.
- Stay ahead of emerging cyber threats and implement best practice security operations.
- Strong knowledge of incident response, threat detection and security monitoring.
- Excellent understanding of networking, cyber security principles and threat intelligence.
- Experience working within an MSSP or customer-facing environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
