INFRATEC is a specialist highways technology delivery company working across the UK strategic road network. We install and maintain roadside technology, intelligent transport systems (ITS), and tunnel infrastructure equipment nationwide.
We are recruiting for aHighways Installation Operativeto support installation and maintenance of highways technology and infrastructure systems.
This is an entry-level role with full training provided and is ideal for candidates with practical or construction-based experience looking to build a long-term career in infrastructure or engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with installation of highways technology equipment (VMS, CCTV, communications systems)
- Support engineers with testing and commissioning activities
- Carry out site preparation and equipment handling
- Use tools and equipment safely on site
- Complete site documentation and reports
- Follow safe systems of work and assist with risk assessments
- Support project teams in delivering work on time and to required standards
Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Practical experience (construction, utilities, telecoms or similar advantageous)
- Willingness to work outdoors in all conditions
- Good work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Willingness to travel and work away from home during the week
Training & Development
No prior highways experience is required. Full training and certification will be provided, including:
- CSCS / ECS card
- IPAF
- Cat & Genny
- First Aid
- Highways safety training
This role offers a pathway into skilled highways technology and engineering roles.
Working Pattern
- Regular weekday working away from home
- Predominantly night working, Monday to Thursday
- 33 days holiday including bank holidays
- Christmas shutdown period
- Early finish Fridays (operationally dependent)
