Regional Scheduler in Wellingborough

The Regional Scheduler is responsible for the effective planning, scheduling and coordination of operational resources across a designated geographical region to ensure the safe, efficient and timely delivery of utility works. The role acts as a central point of contact between field teams, customers, contractors and internal stakeholders, ensuring that work is scheduled in line with operational priorities, customer commitments, resource availability and regulatory requirements. The postholder will optimise workforce utilisation, manage changing priorities, monitor work progress and maintain accurate scheduling records to support the achievement of performance, customer service, safety and business objectives. Through proactive planning and effective communication, the Regional Utility Scheduler will contribute to service excellence, operational efficiency and continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, schedule, and allocate operational work activities to field-based teams and contractors across the designated region.
• Optimise workforce utilisation to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of utility works.
• Reschedule and reallocate work in response to changing priorities, emergency incidents, resource availability, and business demands.
• Act as the primary point of contact for scheduling, workforce planning, and resource coordination within the region.
• Liaise with operational managers, supervisors, field teams, contractors, and customers to ensure effective work delivery and service excellence.
• Monitor work progress and adjust schedules proactively to minimise delays and achieve operational targets.
• Ensure all work is scheduled in line with customer commitments, operational priorities, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate scheduling records, workforce data, and work management system updates.
• Communicate schedule changes, work status, and operational updates to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance scheduling efficiency, resource utilisation, and customer service performance.

What You'll Need:

Experience / Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and scheduling software.
• Previous experience in an administrative, scheduling, planning or coordination role.
• Experience of managing multiple tasks and priorities within a fast-paced environment.
• Experience of maintaining accurate records and databases.
• Experience communicating effectively with customers, field teams and other stakeholders.

Education / Qualifications

• Good standard of general education required, including Maths and English and/or equivalent experience.
