As an Apprentice Design Technician (Water), you will provide support across all areas of Infrastructure Gateway Limited, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely, efficient, and professional manner while adhering to company processes, procedures, and standards. You will assist with the preparation of water designs and support the delivery of water infrastructure projects, working closely with experienced colleagues to develop your technical knowledge and contribute to high-quality project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the production of water design drawings, Synergy reports and engineering documents for accepted projects.
  • Ensure design packs are delivered on time whilst maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Liaise with Technical Coordinators and third-party network owners to obtain design approvals.
  • Attend the weekly Technical Coordinator meetings providing administrative input into the process.
  • Compliance with WIRS procedures and understanding of NAVS procedure.
  • Knowledge Development – ensure you are aware of and understand the latest Company processes, procedures and standards to aid and uphold the good reputation of professionalism of Infrastructure Gateway Ltd.
  • Update personal and technical drawing calendars in real time.
  • Keep Water companies’ information up to date.

What You'll Need:

  • Some knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Proactive in identifying potential issues and escalating them appropriately, showing a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment whilst demonstrating the capability to operate independently and take initiative.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
  • Basic understanding of water networks is preferred but not essential.
