Role & Responsibilities
- The Infrastructure BIM / Revit Engineer will be working as part of a dynamic team of infrastructure and structured cabling industry experts on medium/large scale projects.
- Attendance at technical meetings with clients and professional teams.
- Creating and updating accurate infrastructure design documents and diagrams using relevant software.
- Validation and checking of designs.
- Acts in an Ethical manner and follows the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines.
Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Advanced CAD / BIM experience required. Primarily associated with IT structured cabling systems.
- Experience of IT structured cabling systems and physical infrastructure design.
- General understanding of associated systems such as wireless networks, telephony, in-building cellular enhancement, Security, Networks, AV, EPMS, BAS smart building technologies is beneficial.
- Ability to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software.
- Good general IT skills to include use of a range of MS applications Word/Excel/Outlook/Teams.
- Working knowledge of Telecom standards an advantage.
- Ability to prioritise own workload and work independently to achieve measured goals and achieve deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. You must be confident and feel comfortable conversing on the telephone, via email and face-to-face as well as to be able to write concise reports.
- It is imperative that you can demonstrate that you have a good attention to detail to include taking a proactive approach to problem solving to include identifying errors and opportunities for improvements.
- You must be a team player but, it is important that you can work on your own initiative to include prioritising work and adhering to deadlines.
- You will be reliable, self-motivated and flexible. Prepared to work hard and commit to learning goals, demonstrating both resilience and perseverance.
- As the role is predominantly home based the candidate must have a suitable permanent ‘home office’ space from which they can work and communicate effectively including participation in visual and audio communications without interruption.
