We are partnering with a leading international bank on an experienced Credit Analyst hire within their Energy team in London. The bank is one of the most active lenders to large corporate clients across the energy sector, spanning oil and gas, renewables, and project finance - with a strong presence across EMEA and a commitment to the energy transition. The London team sits within a broader international platform and works alongside a full suite of investment banking products and services. This is a credit analysis and structuring focused position, sitting within a lean and highly collaborative team. You will work in dedicated client teams alongside relationship managers and client advisors, taking responsibility for the analytical and credit evaluation workstreams on live transactions and ongoing client coverage.
The Role:
- Conducting in-depth financial analysis on energy sector borrowers - understanding their business, their risks, and their credit profile
- Building and stress-testing financial models to assess debt capacity, downside scenarios, and transaction viability
- Preparing and presenting credit papers for senior decision makers, clearly articulating the investment rationale and key risks
- Producing market and sector analysis across oil and gas, renewables, and project finance
- Working alongside client teams to help structure and execute financing solutions
The Candidate:
- 3+ years of experience in credit analysis, project finance, leveraged finance, or energy focused investment banking
- Genuine interest in or exposure to the energy sector - oil and gas, renewables, or project finance experience preferred
- Strong financial modelling and credit analysis skills - experience with structured financings such as reserve-based lending or project finance is a plus
- Comfortable preparing and presenting credit papers or investment materials to a senior audience
- Analytically rigorous, commercially minded, and a strong team player
