An exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Planner (P6) to join a high-profile major factory build and fit-out project in Sunderland. This role will see you working client-side, taking ownership of programme management across complex construction and operational scopes, ensuring delivery certainty under an NEC contract framework.

This is a contract position outside IR35, offering a competitive £450-500 per day, with a hybrid working model (3 days on site in Sunderland), with some further flexibility on this.

  • Coordinate and oversee the integrated master programme with the main contractor and key stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment between construction activities and operational scope requirements
  • Act as the programme focal point, providing challenge and assurance on contractor submissions
  • Monitor and drive delivery against the 21 key Project Management Instructions (PMIs) to ensure on-time completion
  • Lead programme reviews, progress validation, and performance reporting
  • Identify, analyse and mitigate programme risks, delays, and dependencies
  • Support the commercial team through programme input on compensation events
  • Strong expertise in Primavera P6 (planning, updating, and analysis)
  • Proven experience on major construction projects, ideally factory builds, industrial, or large-scale fit-outs
  • Demonstrable NEC contract experience, including early warnings and compensation events
  • Experience working across both client and contractor environments
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, logistics, and operational integration
  • Experience working with tier 1 main contractors
