Starting out in planning and looking for the right opportunity to build your career?

I'm currently supporting a growing consultancy that's looking to bring a Junior Planner / Planning Engineer into its team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with some initial exposure to planning, project controls, Primavera P6 or NEC who wants to develop their skills while gaining experience across major UK infrastructure and construction programmes.

You'll be working alongside experienced planners and project teams, gaining hands-on exposure to how complex programmes are developed, monitored and delivered.

What you'll get involved in

  • Supporting the development and maintenance of project programmes
  • Assisting with progress updates, schedule tracking and project reporting
  • Working with project teams to monitor progress and performance
  • Supporting programme updates and identifying potential delays
  • Gaining practical exposure to NEC processes and project controls
  • Developing your skills across Primavera P6, MS Project and Asta Powerproject
  • Learning from experienced planners and developing your understanding of major project delivery

We're looking for someone who has

  • Some experience or exposure to planning, scheduling or project controls
  • An understanding of Primavera P6 would be advantageous
  • Some knowledge of NEC contracts would be beneficial
  • A background in construction, engineering or infrastructure
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a project team
  • The ambition to develop a long-term career within planning
