The Role
As a Senior Project Controls Engineer, you’ll play a key role in driving project performance across planning, cost, and reporting. Working closely with project managers, commercial teams, and senior stakeholders, you’ll provide robust controls insight to support delivery of complex infrastructure programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the development, maintenance, and assurance of integrated project schedules (Primavera P6 or similar)
- Supporting cost control, forecasting, and earned value management at project or workstream level
- Managing baseline development, progress updates, and performance analysis
- Identifying risks, opportunities, and variances, providing clear mitigation and recovery insight
- Supporting and leading change control processes, including impact assessments
- Producing high-quality project controls reporting for client and senior stakeholder review
- Mentoring junior project controls or planning team members
- Collaborating with planning, commercial, risk, and delivery teams to drive best practice
About You
We’re keen to speak with candidates who have:
- 4+ years’ experience in project controls, planning, or cost control within infrastructure
- Strong experience using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools
- Exposure to cost control, forecasting, and earned value management
- An infrastructure background (transport, utilities, energy, defence, or similar)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and project leadership teams
