First Curve is seeking an experienced Senior Project Planner to join our planning and project controls team. This is a hands‑on senior role where your planning expertise, commercial awareness, and leadership skills will directly contribute to the successful delivery of major infrastructure projects across the UK. You’ll work in a consultancy‑style environment, supporting planning strategy, programme development, and risk management across complex projects.
The Role
- As a Lead Planner, you’ll be responsible for setting the planning direction, producing robust programmes, and providing insight to support informed decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading planning activities across infrastructure projects governed by NEC4 contracts
- Developing, maintaining, and cost‑loading programmes using Primavera P6
- Producing high‑quality reporting, dashboards, and schedule analysis
- Facilitating planning workshops and collaborating with multi‑disciplinary teams
- Performing risk‑based schedule assessments and supporting mitigation planning
- Driving continuous improvement and implementing planning best practice
About You
- Proven experience in infrastructure or civil engineering planning (rail, highways, utilities, energy, or major civils)
- Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts and programme management principles
- Advanced hands‑on experience with Primavera P6, including cost‑loading and schedule control
- Commercially aware, with experience supporting change management, delay analysis, or impact assessments
- Confident communicator, able to lead workshops and engage with senior stakeholders
- Experience producing dashboards or reporting using Power BI or similar tools
- Exposure to multi‑project programmes or complex portfolio planning
- Understanding of lean planning or continuous improvement methodologies
