Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly capable and motivated Investment Funds Lawyer (c.3 years PQE) to join InfraRed’s Legal team. As a technically excellent, intellectually curious lawyer eager to work across a diverse range of fund structures and investment products you will play a central part in supporting fund formation, product launches, ongoing legal support, and strategic activities. Key Job Responsibilities

  • Fund Formation & Product Launches
    • Lead and coordinate the legal workstream for new product launches, including: commingled funds (closed‑ended, evergreen, open‑ended, listed), segregated mandates, co‑investment vehicles.
    • Review, negotiate, and manage fund documentation (e.g., LPAs, IMAs, PPMs, subscription docs, side letters).
    • Manage external counsel effectively, including instructing and supervising law firms, managing legal budgets, ensuring timely delivery of high‑quality legal advice.
  • Internal Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Work closely with internal teams, including: Capital Formation – support on investor queries, DDQs, and fundraising materials; Compliance – ensure regulatory and jurisdictional compliance throughout the lifecycle of the fund or product; Fund Accounting / Operations – align legal documentation with operational and financial workflows.
  • General Legal Support
    • Provide day‑to‑day legal support on legal matters, such as reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, providing general corporate advisory support, contributing to strategic initiatives and projects, conducting horizon scanning, supporting portfolio‑related legal issues and ad hoc project needs where required.
  • Governance, Risk & Escalation
    • Reporting into senior legal counsel and provide clear escalation on key legal risks. Exercising strong judgement in identifying risks and knowing when to escalate legal or commercial issues to senior lawyers or management. Contributing to the development of internal legal templates, playbooks, knowledge resources, and process efficiencies.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Russell Group university educated preferred.
  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with approximately 3 years post‑qualification experience (PQE).
  • Experience in fund formation, investment management, and/or financial services, gained in a leading private practice firm or in‑house legal team is required.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, issue‑spotting and advisory skills.
  • Experience working with fund managers, institutional investors or alternative asset managers is advantageous.
