About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Associate to join a growing investment team and play a leading role in the evaluation, execution, and management of infrastructure investments. This position combines transaction execution responsibilities with hands-on involvement in financial modelling, investment analysis, and investment committee materials. The successful candidate will support the origination, structuring, negotiation, and execution of acquisition and development opportunities while also contributing to the active management of existing investments.

The role is ideally suited to an infrastructure investment professional with strong project finance modelling capabilities, commercial judgement, and transaction execution experience who is looking to take the next step towards a more senior leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the execution of acquisitions, strategic investments, joint ventures, and infrastructure development projects.
  • Support the origination, evaluation, structuring, negotiation, and execution of investment opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain, and review complex project finance and investment financial models.
  • Perform valuation analyses, scenario modelling, sensitivity testing, and financial due diligence.
  • Prepare investment papers, investment committee memoranda, board materials, and internal approval documentation.
  • Coordinate and manage commercial, financial, legal, technical, tax, and ESG due diligence processes alongside external advisors.
  • Support transaction structuring, negotiations, and execution of key commercial and financing agreements.
  • Review and provide input into legal, commercial, technical, and financial documentation.
  • Support portfolio management activities, including performance monitoring, refinancing initiatives, and strategic value creation opportunities.
  • Work closely with senior management, lenders, advisors, investors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support junior team members as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Law, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
  • Approximately 6+ years of relevant experience gained within an infrastructure fund, project finance team, investment bank, advisory firm, developer, utility, or similar investment environment.
  • Demonstrable experience working on infrastructure transactions, investments, financings, or project developments within the water, environmental services, renewable energy, power, energy-from-waste, or PPP sectors.
  • Strong project finance modelling experience, including development and review of complex financial models.
  • Experience preparing investment committee papers, board presentations, and transaction approval materials.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams across complex transactions.
  • Strong commercial, analytical, financial, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
