Senior Data Program Manager and strategic delivery leader with 20+ years of experience directing enterprise scale data and analytics transformations across regulated insurance and financial services. Trusted advisor to the Chief Data Officer and executive leadership, aligning strategy, investment, and operating models to deliver governed road maps, clear accountability, and measurable business outcomes. Known for executive presence—leading steering committees, shaping decisions across complex stakeholder landscapes, and translating ambiguity into actionable priorities. Delivers with rigor through disciplined governance, risk and dependency management, and change leadership to embed sustainable data capabilities and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnership & Program Leadership
- Partner directly with the Chief Data Officer (CDO) as a trusted execution and delivery leader for the enterprise data strategy.
- Shape, prioritize, and execute a portfolio of interdependent data programs aligned to business and regulatory objectives.
- Translate strategic priorities into roadmaps, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
- Enterprise Data Delivery
- Lead large scale data initiatives including:
- Enterprise data platforms and modern data architecture
- Analytics, reporting, and insight enablement
- Data governance, quality, lineage, and controls
- Regulatory and compliance driven data initiatives (e.g., IFRS 17, Solvency II, finance and risk data programs)
- Ensure delivery consistency across internal teams, vendors, and delivery partners.
- Insurance & Financial Services Enablement
- Work closely with underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, risk, compliance, and operations teams.
- Ensure data programs support regulatory obligations, audit readiness, and enterprise risk management.
- Apply domain understanding of insurance or broader financial services within regulated environments.
- Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
- Engage senior executives and leadership teams across business and technology functions.
- Lead steering committees, governance forums, and executive reporting.
- Influence alignment and decisions across a complex, matrixed organization.
- Governance, Risk & Change
- Establish program level governance, controls, and delivery standards.
- Proactively manage risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges across multiple workstreams.
- Support organizational change and adoption of new data capabilities and standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong professional experience, including substantial leadership experience in data, analytics, or technology programs.
- Proven track record delivering large, complex, multi workstream programs in regulated environments.
- Strong executive presence and gravitas, with the ability to engage credibly with senior leaders and external partners.
- Sound judgement, discretion, and professionalism when navigating complex organizational environments.
- Ability to manage sensitive, high impact stakeholder situations while maintaining trust and delivery momentum.
- Deep understanding of enterprise data platforms, analytics ecosystems, and data governance.
- Excellent communication, influence, and leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, Information Systems, Statistics, or related field.
- Must be based in London, UK, or willing to relocate, with eligibility to work in the UK.
Nice to Have / Preferred Qualifications
- Insurance industry experience strongly preferred.
- Financial services experience acceptable if insurance experience is limited.
- Master’s degree or MBA.
- Experience working directly with CDO or C suite executives.
- Program management certifications such as PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or ITIL.
- Exposure to cloud based data platforms and enterprise BI tools.
