We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler who can analyse and understand the existing customer data and analytics models on SQL Server, and design efficient data models for Snowflake. This individual will work closely with multiple Business Analysts to gather requirements and translate them into optimized data structures, ensuring scalability and compliance with industry standards. A strong understanding of Insurance domain concepts—including Specialized Insurance, London Market, and Regulatory Data—is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse and document the current data model in SQL Server for customer data and analytics.
- Design and implement new data models or modify existing ones for Snowflake.
- Ensure models adhere to best practices for normalization, performance, and scalability.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to implement models effectively.
- Work closely with Business Analysts to understand business requirements.
- Translate functional requirements into logical and physical data models.
- Provide impact analysis for changes to existing models and propose efficient solutions.
- Apply knowledge of Insurance domain, including London Market practices and regulatory & compliance data requirements.
- Ensure data models align with industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in data modeling and database design.
- Strong expertise in SQL Server and Snowflake data modeling.
- Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and validation.
- Experience in data architecture principles and data governance.
- Solid understanding of Insurance domain concepts (Specialized Insurance, London Market, Regulatory Data).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with ETL tools and data integration processes.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and cloud data platforms.
- Exposure to Fivetran, SSIS, or Snowflake advanced features.
