Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Team Collaboration and Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers. Participate in architecture review boards and provide expertise and recommendations on network-related projects. Stay updated on industry trends, certifications, and best practices to enhance professional knowledge and expertise.
2. Network Design and Architecture: Assess the organization\’s network infrastructure and identify areas for improvement or optimization. Design, develop, and document network architecture blueprints, including high-level and low-level network designs. Define network standards, protocols, and guidelines to ensure consistency and scalability. Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions into network designs.
3. Network Performance and Optimization: Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose optimizations to improve efficiency and reliability. Conduct network capacity planning and scalability assessments to accommodate future growth. Optimize network configurations, protocols, and QoS settings for performance. Perform audits to ensure adherence to standards.
4. Vendor Management and Collaboration: Work with vendors to evaluate and select solutions, manage relationships, negotiate contracts, and support procurement processes.
5. Documentation and Reporting: Create detailed network design documents, develop project plans, and prepare technical reports and presentations.
6. Operational Responsibilities: Resolve network hardware/software issues, install and troubleshoot wireless access points, monitor network performance, and perform root cause analysis. Work with TAC and support network security and performance tuning. Be flexible to work in 24/7 shifts.
7. Certifications and Skills: Possess strong knowledge in network administration, routing, switching, wireless technologies, and security. Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, ITIL are a plus. Hands-on experience with Cisco, Extreme, and tools like SolarWinds, LogicMonitor, and Cisco Spaces is required.
