Role Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Guidewire Technical Architect to lead the architecture, design, and delivery of Guidewire-based insurance transformation programs. The role is responsible for defining end‑to‑end solution architecture across Guidewire XCentres, ensuring scalability, performance, integration alignment, and adherence to best practices. The role requires client coordination and deep functional or insurance (P&C) industry expertise.

The ideal candidate combines deep Guidewire product knowledge, strong technical architecture skills, and P&C domain expertise; with the aptitude to work in Implementation, Transformation and AMS programs with a strong niche skill of Guidewire (Policy, Billing & ClaimCenter and Guidewire InsuranceSuite) including on‑prem and SaaS versions.

Responsibilities

  • Define end‑to‑end architecture for Guidewire implementations (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter).
  • Design scalable, modular, and high‑performance solutions.
  • Create Solution Architecture Documents (SAD), High‑Level Design (HLD) and Low‑Level Design (LLD).
  • Develop integration and data architecture that aligns with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Provide architecture guidance across PolicyCenter (product model, rating, underwriting rules), BillingCenter (billing plans, invoicing, payments, collections) and ClaimCenter (claims lifecycle, financials, recovery).
  • Ensure optimal use of out‑of‑the‑box (OOTB) capabilities while minimizing customization and promoting configuration‑driven design.
  • Design integrations with external systems (CRM, ERP, payment gateways, document management), data platforms, digital front ends, and third‑party services.
  • Define messaging/event‑driven integrations, API‑first architecture, batch vs real‑time processing strategies and secure, reliable, scalable integration patterns.
  • Define data models, data flows and governance standards; guide data migration and conversion strategies; ensure performance tuning, caching and scalability.
  • Oversee cloud/on‑prem deployment architecture (AWS/Azure).
  • Provide technical oversight to development, configuration, and integration teams.
  • Conduct design reviews, code reviews, architecture governance checkpoints and resolve complex technical issues and design challenges.

Qualifications

  • Domain Expertise - Good experience in Property and Casualty insurance domain and London Market.
  • Guidewire Skills - Strong functional understanding of Guidewire Insurance Product Suite (On‑Prem and Cloud). Guidewire Certified Resource – preferably ACE across modules. Experience with policy, claim, and billing life cycles and transactions in Guidewire.
  • Solution Architecture & Design - Define end‑to‑end architecture for Guidewire implementations. Design scalable, modular, high‑performance solutions. Create SAD, HLD & LLD, integration and data architecture. Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Guidewire XCenters Expertise - Provide architecture guidance across PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter. Ensure optimal use of OOTB capabilities. Minimize customization and promote configuration‑driven design.
  • Integration Architecture - Design integrations with external systems, data platforms, digital front ends, and third‑party services. Define API‑first architecture, messaging/event‑driven integrations, batch vs real‑time processing strategies. Ensure secure, reliable, scalable integration patterns.
  • Data & Technology Architecture - Define data models, data flows and governance standards. Guide data migration and conversion strategies. Ensure performance tuning, caching and scalability. Oversee cloud/on‑prem deployment architecture (AWS/Azure).
  • Technical Leadership - Provide technical oversight to development, configuration, and integration teams.
  • Hands‑on experience with Guidewire xCenters (version 10.x & cloud/SaaS) configuration (workflows, data model, rules, entity creation/modification, PCFs customization, validations, widgets, integration mechanisms).
  • Sound knowledge of Guidewire xCenters customization and integration (REST, SOAP APIs, intra and inter system).
  • Experience with batch processes, Guidewire Messaging framework, OOTB plugins, infra concepts and deployment architecture (WMB, WAS, Apache).
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture and design in Guidewire ecosystem.
  • Ability to write SQL queries for data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of GW Cloud/SaaS offerings (GT Framework, Integration Gateway, Advance Product Designer, Autopilot, Underwriting Workbench).
  • Project Management skills – implementation, modernization and AMS programs, defect triaging, estimation, stakeholder management, application enhancements, team leadership, client stakeholder management, RFP/project proposal contribution.
